Florida teen charged with first-degree murder for luring ex-boyfriend to his death

OCALA, FLORIDA — Florida teen Amber Wright has been found guilty of first-degree murder for her part in the brutal slaying of her ex-boyfriend in April 2011.

The Ocala Star Banner reports that on the night of the killing, 15-year-old Seath Jackson was lured out by Wright, now 19, with promises of rekindling their relationship.

She led him into a friend's home where he was beaten by her brother, Kyle Hooper, and another friend, Justin Soto, before being shot in the head by Wright's then-boyfriend, Michael Bargo.

Jackson's body was dragged into a tub, where Bargo broke his kneecaps before hog-tying him and wrapping him in a sleeping bag.

The group then burned his body in a fire pit, and scooped his remains into five-gallon paint buckets that were thrown into a limerock quarry in Ocala the next day.

Bargo was given the death sentence in 2013 for his role as the ringleader and is now the youngest person on death row.

Hooper, Soto and Charlie Ely, whose home was used in the murder, were all given life sentences.

The trial is the second for Wright, whose previous conviction was overturned after it was discovered that she was not properly read her Miranda Rights before confessing to the murder, according to WESH. She is set to be sentenced on Feb. 23.
