JAKARTA, INDONESIA — A video posted on Twitter shows the moment when one of the attackers in Jakarta accidentally killed himself.
Another video posted on Twitter shows someone lying on the ground while frightened people in the street run for safety.
Multiple explosions and a gunfight terrorized people in the city in Thursday. Seven were killed, five of whom were the attackers themselves. During the assault, at least 20 more people were wounded.
According to Reuters, the relatively low death toll following the attacks could be due to the fact that they were carried by local militants whose weapons were rudimentary.
The coordinated explosions, however, echoed the series of terrorist attacks that took place in Paris on November 13.
