Twin sister stoners mauled by boyfriend's dog, bit more than 100 times

Published on Jan 8, 2016 RICHMOND, CANADA — Twin sisters were viciously mauled by a dog that belongs to one of their boyfriends, who says they took the dog from his house in Richmond, British Columbia without his permission on Dec. 30.

The twins Kati and Jessi Mather have been released from the hospital following the attack in which Jessi was bit 20 times and Kati was bit more than 100 times by the Husky-Rottweiler mix named Yogi.

Yogi was tied to a tree at the park when he tried to attack Jessi's 3-year-old son. She stepped in to protect the boy, who was not harmed during the incident. Kati took the brunt of the attack and suffered a fractured arm and a detached bicep.

Onlookers tried to help, including Ken Brodie, 73, who jumped his backyard fence to kick the dog and was bitten on the hand.

According to CBC, two other witnesses, Brooklyn Purdy and her boyfriend Jackson Elliott, called police and ran up to fend off the dog with hockey sticks. Police showed up to find the dog still biting Kati. One officer tried to distract him, while the other officer checked on Kati. The dog was scared off by gunshots.
Yogi was later found by police and turned over to the Richmond Animal Protection Society. There's a petition circulating online to get Yogi off of doggy death row.

The Mather twins run several marijuana-related social media pages, including the Twins That Toke Facebook and Instagram pages. Kati's boyfriend Lucas MacNeil wrote in a Facebook post that the dog was taken from his house without his permission and may have been provoked before attacking people at the park.
